The exhibition features the works of 35 international artists who focused on reinterpreting existing and/or found material to produce new work and therefore resorting to all kinds of strategies: literal appropriation, quotation, deconstruction or manipulation of the original material.
Whether rearranging, reconnecting or overlapping any possible signifier and placing it in a new context, the results are both harmonious and dissonant cross-pollinations.
Dirk Zoete’s ‘Open-air’ installation built in the yard of the Heilige Geest site will be re-used and function as an'open-air cinema'.Films and performances will be shown here on the opening night.
